What happens at Easter Vigil?

As a Candidate I would like to thank Phemie for such a great synopsis of the Easter Vigil. Could you expand on what the “Profession by the Candidates” during Celebration of Reception entails. Is it something I should know or will it be something I can read? My instructors in RCIA haven’t shared this with us.

In fact, we have nine readings: seven from the Old Testament and two from the New, with psalms and prayers in between each reading.

You can read about what happens on each day of the Triduum here: pastoralcentre.pl/holy-week-easter-triduum/ All of the readings and psalms are listed under the section, ‘Easter Vigil’ (scroll down a bit).

The site is for English-speaking Catholics in Poland, so there is some mention of particularly Polish Triduum customs, but the Easter Vigil information is universal.
