What happens if you sin before, after pentecost?

I’m a catechumen at the moment and I will recieve holy spirit this sunday at pentecost with the help of the clergy. So I wonder, what happens if you sin before, after pentecost? Will holy spirit abandon me or If I sinned before it, holy spirit won’t come?
 
So your waiting to receive Holy Communion, and have been to confession? So inbetween a mortal sin occured?

I’m not sure what this means. We are in the Advent season. How will the clergy help you receive the holy spirit?

Are you saying you are being baptized this Sunday?

Can you clarify what you mean by “this Sunday at Pentecost”? This coming Sunday is not Pentecost.

If it is a language difficulty, and you are referring to Baptism, all of your past sins will be washed away . After Baptism, you will need to go to confession for the forgiveness of your sins, like the rest of us. God bless you.
 
Confirmation is our personal participation in Pentacost, when we are clothed with power from on high and given the strength to boldly proclaim Christ, just like Peter and Stephen. Maybe this is what Sacratus is talking about.

Sacratus, is that what you mean? That you will be baptized and recieve confirmation at the same time, this Sunday? Are you in a Roman Catholic Church or an Eastern Catholic Church. I know that some Eastern Churches do baptism and confirmation at the same time.

If you sin after baptism, you drive the holy spirit from you. The sacraments are still valid and the Holy Spirit never fully leaves you, but the grace of the Holy Spirit no longer acts in your life and you have to confess.

Well baptism is not the thing I’m talking about. Our priest said somebody will come from Rome and pray for us the recieve the holy spirit. So I wonder if I sin before it or after it will I lost it? This isn’t pentecost that’s true, it can’t be. Maybe it’s my mistake or someone told me different thing. I feel like a noob.

I can’t get with charismatic methods but it’s the best I got and it’s the closest church to me. Also I love the priest. 🙂

Whatever works for you spiritually. It’s not forbidden by the Church, so it doesn’t matter what I think.

That’s code for I am too tired for the Charismatic debate thing. 🙂
 
Are you talking about the 8th sacrament of being baptized in the spirit? 😃
 
The Holy Spirit is with you from the time you are baptized, and you are sealed in the Holy Spirit from the time you are Chrismated/Confirmed. Do not worry so much, be at peace in the Lord.
 
If you are concerned with being in a state of grace to more fully receive the Holy Spirit, you could go to confession prior to that service. At least for myself, if I go to confession shortly before Mass, I feel like much more receptive to the gift of grace via the Eucharist.

Whoops, I missed the “catechumen” part so you probably can’t go to confession, yet.
