I didn’t see the part where they were required to ask for forgiveness, believe in Jesus and the Holy Trinity…and so on…any comments?Their bodies become corpses and they live on as spirits, and God judges them on their love. If they die in mortal sin, they go to Hell. If not, they go to Heaven, though if they die in venial sin than they are purified before seeing God face-to-face. At the resurrection of the dead, they receive their bodies again, and so they become human persons again.
Man is not judged on belief but on love.I didn’t see the part where they were required to ask for forgiveness, believe in Jesus and the Holy Trinity…and so on…any comments?
Why the sea?The cease being part of the Kindred of the Land and join the Kindred of the Sea. Chances are some God or Goddess or Spirit in there ancestral lines will take them in.
What happens to atheists after death? What happens to Atheists after death?

Is it simply turning off the light switch? If so, where is the comfort in that?
…second only to the surprise felt by Christians when the angel tells them, "Have a seat, Allah will be along to judge you shortly. You did complete the hadj, didn’t you? What happens to atheists after death?
The very first thing is that they get a big surprise.
As far as I can tell, yes, that’s it.Is it simply turning off the light switch?
It’s just a fact. Facts are not obliged to be comforting. Instead of trying to live as if there is life after death, I try to live as if there is life before death. If so, where is the comfort in that?
For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten so that whoever BELIEVES in Him will not perish but have eternal life. ~John 3:16Man is not judged on belief but on love.
As for forgiveness: Pray for sinners.
Unless anyone here has actually died and then come back to life then no one here actually know. Some of us don’t need the security blanket that is heaven. Not that anyone of us want to die but we’ll find out when it happens. Is it simply turning off the light switch? If so, where is the comfort in that?
Ooooooh, somebody’ll take 'em in alright. The cease being part of the Kindred of the Land and join the Kindred of the Sea. Chances are some God or Goddess or Spirit in there ancestral lines will take them in.
Catechism of the Catholic Church said:Atheism
2123 "Many . . . of our contemporaries either do not at all perceive, or explicitly reject, this intimate and vital bond of man to God. Atheism must therefore be regarded as one of the most serious problems of our time."58
2124 The name “atheism” covers many very different phenomena. One common form is the practical materialism which restricts its needs and aspirations to space and time. Atheistic humanism falsely considers man to be "an end to himself, and the sole maker, with supreme control, of his own history."59 Another form of contemporary atheism looks for the liberation of man through economic and social liberation. "It holds that religion, of its very nature, thwarts such emancipation by raising man’s hopes in a future life, thus both deceiving him and discouraging him from working for a better form of life on earth."60
2125 Since it rejects or denies the existence of God, atheism is a sin against the virtue of religion.61 The imputability of this offense can be significantly diminished in virtue of the intentions and the circumstances. "Believers can have more than a little to do with the rise of atheism. To the extent that they are careless about their instruction in the faith, or present its teaching falsely, or even fail in their religious, moral, or social life, they must be said to conceal rather than to reveal the true nature of God and of religion."62
2126 Atheism is often based on a false conception of human autonomy, exaggerated to the point of refusing any dependence on God.63 Yet, "to acknowledge God is in no way to oppose the dignity of man, since such dignity is grounded and brought to perfection in God. . . . "64 "For the Church knows full well that her message is in harmony with the most secret desires of the human heart."65
