What does the Church teach in relation to suicide? We do pray for all souls but when seeking answers avoidance is the norm. I am Catholic but my brother was protestant and committed suicide in 2002. Would appreciate comments from both sides of the aisle. Feelings of closure have been pending for awhile.

Please be assured of our prayers for your healing and for the repose of the soul of your brother. May God grant him eternal rest and let Perpetual Light shine upon him.
