What happens to unbaptized infants?

What happens to them? What are we supposed to believe? What happens if an unbaptized infant dies?

We do not have any infallible statement on what happens. We entrust them to God’s Mercy.

The Church does not know. It does NOT teach that they are damned. One theological speculation is that they are saved entirely. Another that they are given good, pleasant pleasures in the next life (no punishment) but they don’t have the beatific vision of God.
 
From the Catechism:
1261 As regards children who have died without Baptism, the Church can only entrust them to the mercy of God, as she does in her funeral rites for them. Indeed, the great mercy of God who desires that all men should be saved, and Jesus’ tenderness toward children which caused him to say: "Let the children come to me, do not hinder them,"63 allow us to hope that there is a way of salvation for children who have died without Baptism. All the more urgent is the Church’s call not to prevent little children coming to Christ through the gift of holy Baptism.

It is not known, so we have to trust in God’s mercy and pray that they are in Heaven with Jesus.

Catholics do not believe in reincarnation

“Death is the end of man’s earthly pilgrimage, of the time of grace and mercy which God offers him so as to work out his earthly life in keeping with the divine plan, and to decide his ultimate destiny. When ‘the single course of our earthly life’ is completed, we shall not return to other earthly lives: ‘It is appointed for men to die once.’ There is no ‘reincarnation’ after death” (CCC 1013).

Well, let’s save reincarnation for another thread? Because the Church teaches that we do not reincarnate then that is what I believe, or else scripture is not making sense
