What happens when a priest gets involved in a scandal?

One of the priests in my diocese got involved in a scandal. He unfortunately got someone pregnant and everyone just knew all of a sudden.

Of course the diocese will keep the process confidential, but I just want to know what’s going to happen to him. Will he face like a penal court where he’ll hear his verdict [suspension] or will he simply be given a letter and be sent out of the diocese?

It all depends, much on what the priest wants to do and on his Bishop.

If the woman was an adult, it’s not a crime, just a bad judgement call on the part of the priest.
 
The priest, this woman and the child need prayers, not speculation.
 
Even though no identifying information was given, I don’t think it’s right to post gossip like this.
