I wonder what happens when we make a wrong turn in life, for instance, I got married (I have a great marriage šŸ™‚ ), but often wonder if I had consulted God first, if maybe I would’ve eventually became a nun. My aunt, who was a nun herself, one time told me she had hopes that I would’ve become a nun. (Sweetest person I’ve ever known. I trusted her. Could she have been right?) Now, that could be just MY thinking and not His. But say that was the case. What happens then? I mean, will I forever be living against God’s Will for me? I think I know the answer, but I’d like to hear from you all. Thanks.

Welcome to the club! We ALL make several wrong turns. In fact I make many on a daily basis. But all we can do is to keep our heads up and be kind and loving to our neighbor. Just remember: 2 wrongs don’t make a right, but 3 lefts do . šŸ™‚

What about joining a 3rd order?

I know a woman who is in her late 60s with grown children she told me after her husband passes on shed like to be a nun. Im not sure age requirements etc for the different orders.

It would be a suffering to bear in married life and married life can make saints for sure. Suffering passes, nothing lasts forever in this life. Sometimes regrets can become obsessional regrets and then it is time to talk to a therapist.
Secondly, vocations are invitations not divine commands. One cannot be in the wrong vocation, because in whatever vocation one chooses to commit, the Good Lord then sets about providing the Graces necessary to become a great saint in that vocation.

From what I read you made the right choice. You said it yourself you have a great marriage. It sounds like you wanted to please your aunt and you feel you disappointed her. You should reflect on your life, sounds like your happy. God puts us where He wants us.if we listen with our hearts.Move forward in your life and marriage and be content you made the right decision. GOD BLESS

You are ā€˜little soul’ so you have something in common with a lovely soul who saw herself as little, Sister Therese of Lisieux. You may also perhaps know that she is not the only canonized Saint in her family.
Her mother Zelie, and her father Louis are also canonized saints.

You know that your aunt’s wish, was a wish, not a sign of being called. It was her love speaking.

Your place for serving and praying truly is in the life you have, your marriage and caring as you do for your husband. Your marriage is blessed within the Sacrament of Matrimony.
Caring for you husband is caring for Christ as Jesus tells us in Matthew 25 regarding the judgement of souls.

This post brought a tear to my eye. I actually chose ā€œlittlesoulā€ after the Little Flower. Or maybe you knew that šŸ™‚ but anyway, I love what you said … ā€œCaring for you husband is caring for Christ as Jesus tells us in Matthew 25 regarding the judgement of souls.ā€ … it’s as if you knew he has Parkinson’s Disease :\

Thank you.

God bless you dear little soul.
Only you and He knows what your husband’s illness, and your daily caring for him, requires of you.
May He give you every day the graces you need
And to your husband.
