It’s nothing that he said, but rather how he acts.

He shuns the official papal apartments and chooses modest suites instead. He embraces the poor and sick with genuine joy. He washes the feet of refugees. He invites inmates for lunch, homeless to the Sistine Chapel…etc.

“God does not tire of forgiving. We are the ones who tire in asking for forgiveness!”

It’s not inspirational but it reminds me of how blessed I am to be born into a Catholic family! 😄

I’m with @michaelArc

I can’t really think of anything the Pope has said which truly inspires me.

What truly inspires me is how he lives, how he acts. He doesn’t just talk the talk, he walks the walk.

If you ask me, Pope Francis is a living Saint and a Prophet.

When Pope Francis speaks, I truly feel as if Jesus and Peter are the ones speaking through him.

The most inspiring thing for me is that he used to ride the bus back when he was a cardinal in Argentina, when he could have taken a private limo. I rode buses a lot when I was a poor broke student with no car. I still ride them sometimes. Yet I have friends who not only don’t ride them but are terrified at the very thought of riding a bus with less well-off people (some of whom are probably also a different race from themselves). A Cardinal on the bus says a lot about his personal values and lifestyle.

People kept saying that when he was in the United States, he didn’t speak out against abortion, that’s a lie because he said that all life should be protected. And that’s what I love about Pope Francis, no matter what people try to do with him, what type of ideology they try to put him in, he defies it. But it’s not even that, it’s that he’s like a grandpa. I love my grandpa Jorge. We call him Papa Francesco although some of the family calls him Papa Francisco. There are well over a billion in this family, some of them just like to complain about our grandpa, many like to twist his words, and a lot just flat out don’t like him.

This ones better:

" ‘Some think that — excuse the word — that in order to be good Catholics we have to be like rabbits. No.’ "

Source? And not a secular one, and in the original language. And, give me the context.

His position on gender theory as ideological colonization. Even as an amoral Gen Xr growing up, I could not have imagined that transgenderism would be the spiritual pandemic that it has become.

Yes! I love that, and my friend quotes that a lot. I just love pretty much everything about Pope Francis.

There are so many beautiful things, thanks to the publication of his daily homilies.

For me, as a priest, it would his statements against the rigidity one finds in a certain bend of Catholics that most of us, as priests, have personally encountered…his recent address to liturgists, which was magnificent, and the addresses to confessors.

Evangelii Gaudium is a document I return to often for meditation.

Pope Francis is a very great gift to the Church for this moment in history.

Father, we need a mega “like” button. You would get it for that one.

Blessings,
Stephie
