What I think of the Catholic Church

As I read your posts, I’m on the fine edge of laughter and tears, remembering the process of my own conversion. Even though I came from the Southern Baptists, I always had a soft spot for Catholics, (especially Nuns) because I attended Catholic schools (I dunno where all that stuff about mean nuns came from, I never knew any.) I didn’t understand all the ‘stuff’ catholics did, but I had no problem with it. (kids usually don’t.!) Only when I got older and went off to Bible college did I get anti-catholic.(all the Jack Chick stuff and a couple of very vehement, anti-Catholic pastors will do that) Anyhow, like you, I hesitated before I took the plunge because of family and other things, but I can’t tell you how glad I am that I did.

Larryo and masondoggy gave you excellent advice.

Come on in, the water’s fine!!

As a recent convert I understand how you are feeling - you’ve studied, researched and you know in your heart of hearts that the Catholic church is the one true church, but there is something halting that final step. Sorry to be blunt - but I suggest you might follow the advice someone gave me when I spoke of similar inhibitions - swallow your pride and take the leap - soon you’ll never look back and wonder why you didn’t convert sooner.

3. I do believe in the Real Presence of Christ I just haven’t accepted an explaination as to HOW it happens it’s enough for me to know that he is there.
Just don’t question. Christ says it’s so, so it’s so. That simple.

Besides he’s GOD he could easily make his body out of wine and bread if he so desired so it’s just not that much of a stretch if you just accept that God can do as he pleases regardless of wether or not it makes sense to us.
