civil rights and other rights can overlap, but civil rights specifically refers to rights for citizens.

the dictionary will tell you:

mw3.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/civil%20rights

“the nonpolitical rights of a citizen”

google “define civil rights” and you get:

“The rights of citizens to political and social freedom and equality”
So according to you, it is OK to kill non-citizens since they do not have the right to life.

Visa holders, green card holders, illegal aliens, unborn children, diplomats from other countries - all are fair game to be killed.

So we’re back to open season on non-citizens again.

I love it how we just keep going around in circles here 🙂

Maybe it is time to get out of the dictionary and into the real world? You know that the real world does not always go according to textbooks.

wowbagger: you dont understand what youre reading. also from LII: “Examples of civil rights are freedom of speech, press, and assembly; the right to vote; freedom from involuntary servitude; and the right to equality in public places.” illegal immigrants do not have the right to vote, or the right to equality in public places–theyre not citizens. the key words in the excerpt you provided: equal protection of the laws. it is not illegal to deny non-citizens civil rights.

bobcatholic: no, not according to me. i didnt say that. youre the only one going around in circles here. im staying put where ive been from the start.

Wowbagger:
Here is Duhaime’s Legal Dictionary, with a better version:

Personal rights which civilized communities undertake, by the enactment of positive laws, to prescribe, abridge, protect, and enforce.
since you mentioned “Duhaime’s Legal Dictionary.”

duhaime.org/LegalDictionary/C/CivilRights.aspx

note the reference given for the definition:

Byers v. San Savings Bank, 52 L.R.A. (N.S.) 320 (1914)
"The word civil is derived from the Latin civilis, a citizen, as distinguished from a savage or barbarian, and the term ‘civil rights’ comprehends all rights which civilized communities undertake, by the enactment of positive laws, to prescribe, abridge, protect, and enforce…
another reference for the definition:

People v. Kern, 554 NE (2d) 1235 (1990)
“[T]he Civil Rights Clause (of the 1938 Constitution of the State of New York) … prohibits private as well as State discrimination as to civil rights. The term civil rights was understood by the delegates at the 1938 Constitutional Convention to mean those rights which appertain to a person by virtue of his citizenship in a state or community.”

And if one is dead, they have none of those rights. That’s why if one doesn’t have the right to life, they have no rights period.

That’s true, you’re saying that it is OK to kill non-citizens, consistently 🙂

ive said its ok to kill the unborn consistently, not non citizens in general (e.g. illegal immigrants), which is what youre claiming. but feel free to quote me saying otherwise.

You said it is OK to kill the unborn because they are not citizens.
Since illegal aliens and other non-citizens - are not citizens either, therefore it must be OK to kill them too.

Same reasoning.

After all, if it is OK to kill one group of non-citizens, it is OK to kill another group.

if i did, then it should be easy to quote me saying so. lets see what you can come up with.

How on earth could the government arrest, prosecute and imprison all 50 million of us?

The Catholic Church has approved of non-violent civil disobedience at times, for example during the Solidarity movement actions in Communist Poland, and during some Civil Rights actions in the USA in the 1950s and 1960s. Catholic priests and nuns were arrested for trespassing and disobeying police orders. In ancient Roman times, early Christians refused to obey certain Roman laws and were tortured and killed by the government.

Wouldn’t such a mass action wake up America, and shake things up. Are we going to just wait 500 years for abortion to eventually be made illegal? Considering the gravity of what abortion is, and how many are occuring every year, shouldn’t we be doing something (nonviolent) that is likely to change the status quo?
Amen!!!👍 Don’t let anyone talk you out of this:eek: If I had the courage I would join you; maybe you are sending me the Holy Spirit… Keep it up guy or girl … just a great idea

BTW, All the services the Government provides except protection is our job, not the government. so not providing money to the government won’ hurt anything.

Stay in there Bartolome:thumbsup:👍

Ah, so you don’t understand logic and reasoning?

So explain to me why it is OK to kill one group of non-citizens but not another?

The government doesn’t have to arrest, prosecute and imprison 50 million.

How many Catholics and other Christians ACTUALLY hold to the pro-life Gospel? And of those how many are actually willing to do peaceful civil disobedience?

Remember, there are way more goats than sheep.

ah, so you cant produce a quote where i said what you claimed? thats what i thought.

Aren’t we forgetting the Jesus himself said to pay Caesar whatever he wants? And we all know that the IRS is always careful to have at least one employee named Caesar. Not paying taxes would be blasphemy.
Hi there,May Saint Michael enlighten and protect you!
I’m sorry to tell you this but you are totally wrong on that sdtatement’ Jesus said to pay Ceasar all that he asks", No way! He said to pay him what belongs to him and "whatever he may be asking is not necessarily what belongs to him. The government has the duty to create his own money and if he did all public works would be paid off the surplusses of the country. I humbly and fraternally suggest you to study the Social Doctrine of the Church and also the best known way to apply it: the social Credit philosophy available free on internet: Michaeljournal.org
Please pray for me!
God bless you!

Yes, that gospel passage so often is taken out of context. Jesus had been asked whether it was legal (under the Jewish Law) to pay taxes to Caesar–yes or no?

It was a trick question. A “yes” would allow them to paint him as a bad Jew. A “no” would allow them to paint him as a political revolutionary.

He asked for a Roman coin simply to show that they were already using Roman money. His answer “give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, but give to God what is God’s” doesn’t answer the question at all, does it? It is precisely a way to avoid answering the question! Any modern day politician would understand that. His reply can’t be used to draw any conclusions whatever about civil governance or tax policy.

ah, so you cant produce a quote where i said what you claimed? thats what i thought.
So tell me why it is OK to kill unborn children because they are not citizens while it is NOT ok to kill illegal aliens who also are not citizens?

There is a contradiction in your reasoning.

quote where i say “it is OK to kill unborn children because they are not citizens.” it can be anything i said that resembles what youre saying i said–it doesnt have to be verbatim. go ahead. lets see the quote.

Here is where you said it is OK to kill the unborn.
ive said its ok to kill the unborn consistently,
And here is why you said that the unborn do not have the right to life.
not in the case of abortion because the unborn arent citizens.
So please explain.

Why do you think it is OK to kill the unborn because they’re not citizens?

i see where youre coming from now. sorry for being unclear. i didnt mean they dont have a right to life because theyre not citizens–i dont believe that. all i meant was that non citizens do not have civil rights, and this would include a right to life if conferred by citizenship; because the unborn are not citizens. this is not to say that human rights, which are not civil rights, cannot protect the same things (e.g., life) regardless of citizenship. like i mentioned before, civil rights and other rights can overlap each other.

Catholic church is being used by politically minded people to further their greedy agenda.A white protestant movement, politics and religion dont mix!Rape, incest fornification ,Adultery,is not gods will. Why are you encouraging these people to have a baby at all costs.Even if The mother Dies.Preists,nuns.What do they know about having babies.I believe gay is a moral issue. Many gay preists.should not get into issues they have no backbone with or judge people>Look what happened in Ireland with church abd politics.I go to catholic church to thank god.I put my money in basket, and have no time for the churches watered down laise faire philosphies, teaming up with corporations.Jesus should not be put on dem or repub ticket its an insult to my faith
