One of the nice things about being Catholic is that the Church has kindly defined a lot of things for us. The Church tells us – your own citation, for example – that certain things are not God’s will. If you want to be a Catholic, you need to accept those things whether you like them or not.
I can understand what you’re saying. I’ve had to struggle with a couple things that bother me (for lack of a better term), but at one point I told myself to fish or cut bait. That’s pretty corny, isn’t it, but what I mean is I accepted the Church’s teaching on those things. I decided that God’s will and being a member of Christ’s own Church was more important than those things.
