I simply cannot see how you think agreeing to murder your own child–any child–would be a good test of faith.
As far as I’m concerned, Abraham failed the test.
We’ll never know if god would have raised his son from death had Abraham murdered him.
I agree…this god’s order goes beyond comprehension. To me, it’s totally incomprehensible.

I think the less shallower, far deeper, drink would be to *not * follow an order to murder one’s child.

.
But that was not the case. God sent His Angel to stop Abraham. The Angel said, “I know now how much you are devoted to God seeing that you did not hide from me your only son.” As far as God was concerned, whose concern is the only concern that matters, Abraham passed the test.

But he was going to do it!
And the point is–whether they actually went through with it or not–god asked him to do it! Sounds more like emotional bribery and abuse rather than a test of faith.T
o ask someone to murder their child??!!
I don’t know if you have a child but…if you do, and if god told you to murder him/her…you would do it?

Just knowing he almost did it probably traumatized Abraham forever. And I’ll bet the kid’s mother never felt safe leaving the kid alone with him ever again.

.
God has a purpose for everything. And who am I, a man, to talk back to my Creator?

In your opinion. God’s message to Abraham was enough to calm his fears.
