What if Jesus came to visit your home?

I’d let Him walk right on in. I’ve got nothing to hide, for He sees all of me as it is now. I’d introduce Him to my family, show him around the house, offer him food and drink, and see that whatever He needed was attended to. This I offer to all who come through my door, and naturally He would be privy to the same. .

First thing, I’d offer Him a drink. Then we’d grill some huge steaks and open the 1964 bordeaux that I’ve been saving. We’d probably polish off a couple more bottles from the cellar and then I’d invite all of our friends over with all their kids. He’d call His mom and step-dad invite them over too. All the friends would bring good beer. We’d stay up really really late talking and laughing and dancing. He’d teach us ancient hebrew dances and songs. We’d tease Him and say we were out of beer and could he please make more. We’d probably get a keg if the weather was nice and hang out in the backyard. We might order pizza at 1AM because we might be hungry again. All in all it would be the greatest party we’ve ever had.

I’d like to say that all the right things would be said and done, etc. etc. In reality, I would probably just stand there with a stupid look on my face; or just faint.

This does bring some questions to mind though. Why didn’t I hear the thunder and see the lightning and the lowering clouds and all? What could have been so important that all that was missed?

There wasn’t any of that because He is came to visit you not end the world. 😃

I would be stunned at first, and then I would quickly offer to wash His feet! I don’t have the right oils, but clean would have to do. Then, of course, we would have something to eat. I would ask Him all those questions that we ask each other all the time, like “What is it really like in heaven, what happens to our pets, you know the usual…”

I like the poster that said that Jesus is there every day, and of course we should live as such. Good things to think about…

Well, I’d probably have to get rid of the beer bottles but after that I’d offer him a nice cold brew so we could sit and have a good visit.
