What if Mary Carey had been elected governor of California in 2003?

It’s a little late to be wondering now about something that **never happened **in 2003, isn’t it? I doubt the majority of people on CAF know who she is.

What, you mean worse than the existing disaster? :bigyikes:
Well, po18guy, Mary Carey was a porn star. She ended up appearing on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew in 2008. (Hint, hint.)

She certainly couldn’t have done any worse than the current crop of far-left wackos who are driving California into financial ruin. It’s sort of like Trump vs. Clinton; if it came to Mary Carey vs. Jerry Brown, I’d take my chance with Mary Carey.

Would disaster have ensued?
Probably the same thing that happened to The Arnold. Any good idea or new plan she had would have been shot down or blocked by the state legislature or teachers/prison guard unions. 🤷

California is being driven to financial ruin?

I read she ran as a publicity stunt back int 2003, why are you bringing her up now?

I do. And nothing in it would indicate California is being driven to financial ruin.
Let’s see…your governor is pushing a high-speed rail system that no one really seems to want at a cost that will probably easily go north of $100 billion, paid for by kicking the can down the road.

The left in California is clamoring for single-payer health care for the base price of $400 billion, which is more than double the state budget of $180 billion.

Add to that the $1.3 trillion owed by the state, then I wonder at your inability to recognize financial irresponsibility. If that isn’t financial ruin, then I don’t know what is.

Plenty of people I know want the HSR. A fringe group is pushing Single Payer, and it went down in flames when they realized the cost would be more than the state’s current budget annually. As for the money owned by the state, it’s not 1.3 trillion. I suggest you re-read the article as that number includes local governments, school districts, etc…
