Turtle soup. Great. Never had elephant jerky though. And since we know it’s turtles all the way down, we won’t deplete the source!

Job 26.7 He stretches out the north over empty space and suspends the earth over nothing at all.
Isaiah 40.22 He that stretches out the heavens as nothing and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in 23 He that bringeth the searchers of secrets to nothing , that hath made the judges of the earth as vanity.

Whales 🐋 are AMAZING 😉 Now, our Universe with its many cosmic whales is contained within the Great Jellyfish.

Some Bible versions say " He who sits above the circle of the earth "
 
The Earth is an oblate spheroid, not a globe. Gesh Isaiah. Get it together mon!

If a science textbook replaces the 'Word of God 'then
The parting of the Red Sea in Exodus ,
Jesus commanding the wind and the sea to be still ,
Jesus walking on water,
changing water into wine ,
disappearing when an angry mob was about to kill him
to name but a few
We are to insist that the Bible must agree with ’ perceived ’ science
These events do not line up with **Science ** as we see it. Are they therby also discredited ?
 
So first off: As a Catholic you can trust the Church to interpret scripture and tradition. As the Church has not condemned round-earth as a heresy, we know it is not damaging to the deposit of Truth. In other words those verses do not need to mean a flat earth to be true. Kind of like how evolution is not against our faith despite the literal words of Genesis.

As for gravity, jump up and you’ll come down. And lighter objects require less force to overcome gravity than heavier ones. And once upward force ceases the overcoming of gravity ceases.
And living on Earth, our muscles are used to Earth’s gravity. Go to the moon with less gravity and use the same force to walk, you’d get a lot higher.
