First, there is no Mass on Good Friday. The liturgy on Good Friday is a Communion service. Second, if you honestly cannot go to Mass because of a work schedule, that is just reason to miss Mass. Finally, I am curious to know how you can possibly be working 72 hours straight without any break at all (except on Good Friday) from Holy Thursday through Easter Sunday.
Work schedules can make Mass attendance challenging, but it is disheartening that non-Catholics and non-Christians seem perfectly capable of meeting their religious obligations with far less opportunity to do so than your average American Catholic who has an average of four Mass times on any given weekend during which he can meet his Sunday/holy day obligation. How do non-Catholics and non-Christians do this? They put in for vacation time far in advance, or they ask their supervisor far in advance to draft the work schedule with their religious obligations in mind (e.g., either starting or ending a shift at a time when a religious service can be accommodated).
Would that Catholics were so conscientious.
