🙂 The purpose of this post is to get some opinions on the last day’s.There are alot of books out there on the last day’s And scripture plainly tells us that satan will delude the world at the time of the end.And the apostle Paul specifically says God himself will send a "deluding influence"on the world for the purpose of exposing those who have no love of the Truth:

If you believe Satan’s lie then you are ignorant of God and very jealous of the truth

You don’t really seem to have a specific question. Are you just looking for people’s random opinions on the “Last Days”? That’s kind of a wide topic. 🙂

The remedy to avoiding that delusion was taught a few passages later in the same letter. Keep to the traditions

2 thess-ch1 v14

Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle.

Got secularism?
My question is in reference to 2Thes;2:7-12 also Hosea:12:10 Do you think satan will be destroyed when Christ returnes? or after the thousand year reign? God told Daniel to conceal the mystery until the end day Daniel:12:4 12:9How can satan deceive the whole world when there are so many books that expose his lies? Nancy

Nancy,

I don’t know. However, this I can tell you, Christ wins. Therefore the how and the when do not overly concern me.

God bless

The only lie involving satan is the claim that he exists.

People think that whoever writes those books are paranoid or schizophrenic or whatever and don’t believe them. I don’t know which books you are talking about, though. Not all of satan’s lies are exposed however, because he mixes truth in with them so that the people confuse the two.

I don’t know, but America is not immune, nor the rest of the world.

As for satan being destroyed, aint happening, but he will be bound forever in hell with no chance of escape. I’m pretty sure that’s the Catholic Church’s teaching, with my own twist. But, obviously I could be wrong.

I find attaching the word ‘lie’ to the conceptions of delusion that fallen intellects are able to impose difficult to do. Intellects that know human likeness as it is in it’s Original Innocense. Intellects that operate at depths of awareness every human passes through but forgets. The awarenesses that become the foundations of belief and the primary supports of the reality constructed and imagined by our mind.

Demons can weave deception by saying true things.

Attaching the word ‘lie’, can help in keeping the true character of the power of evil obscured in the transience of language.

fwiw: these are the primary lies of the dragon, and they are the same as what he metaphorically spoke from the beginning to our first parents.

Therefore, in essence, the dragon simply recycles the same lies, and because of the fallen nature, humanity continually falls for them:
Now, another** fourth** digression: the nature of the fall has two primary components:

I. The total disregard of Divine Truth and the Divine Will
II. The selfishly ambititious exaltation of the Creation above the Creator, which is to say, that humanity seeks its ultimate fulfillment in the created goods instead of the union with God forever in covenant.

The first component is aptly the antithesis of Baptism, which is to say, its nature is to disregard the essential traits of the Baptismal disposition, namely, the firm resolve to accept all Divine Truth and to do the Will of the Father. Hence, the first principle, which is likened unto anti-Baptism, is to have no regard for God’s Words, nor to do His will.

The second component above is aptly the antithesis of the ultimate expression of Marriage, for the sacrament of Marriage, the other sacrament had by heretics, in addition to the above Baptism, is ultimately pointing to our ultimate destiny: God wishes to MARRY us, and hence, our ultimate calling is to offer ourselves and the creation back to God in Holy Covenant, to be united with the Trinity in a spiritually spousal union forever and ever. The second component, then, seeing as it first embraces anti-Baptism, utterly negates this principle, in that it leads its adherents to no longer seek the Divine embrace in eternity, but to live only for this world. Hence, the heavenly marriage of Christ and the Bride is replaced with the “spiritual fornication” of the Whore with the world, where man, in his selfish pride and worldly ambition, seeks his ultimate fulfillment merely in the brute superficialities of this world: possessions, pleasures, and egotistical accomplishments.
the only difference, then, between the end of the world and all other major ages of sin in human history (such as, but not limited to, the wickedness of Noah’s Day, or pagan Rome’s) persecutions), is that at the end of the world, humanity will be in a permanent manifestation of the fallen nature, incapable in a practical sense, of being restored to God.

Hence, in the same passage of the second chapter of 2 Thess, the restrainer is the Holy SPirit, who restrains the end of the world through His redemptive action in history. Therefore, only when the Holy Spirit can no longer cure the general fallen nature of man shall there be “nothing to restrain iniquity”.

I have quickly scanned the 13 entries here and no one seems to address the issue of the lie. What is the lie?

It would seem “the lie” is in two parts: Genesis 3:4,5. 'You shall not surely die!" and “You shall be as gods.”

It would seem that most of our society has already bought into the second part: If we do enough stuff the right way and do it hard enough and sincerely enough and long enough, then we will be able to be the masters of our own existence. We will all have two green cars in every garage and no carbon taxes and no global warming and no greenhouse gases and fully stocked grocery stores and no work and all play. Just take a look at the commercials on TV.

And if you take enough of the right kind of pills after consulting with your physicians then that will take care of the first part.

Well, spauline addressed it above. I was assuming the lie of the beast in Revelation, but the original poster I think had something else in mind.

At this point I’m confused too. But it does seem to me that the 2 part lie you refer to is being lived out today too. First part - Oprah and Tolle and everyone who follows that line of thinking… Although that form of thinking has been around a while, it’s just brought to you in new and improved packaging.

I don’t. If you do, you can stop any time you want
to believe in what does not exist. Satan is but a concept to illustrate the evil inclination in man. There is no such a thing as a being called Satan. Satan as a being is a fabrication of religious crooks to play with people’s fears, and to make a living out of the
naive ones of this world.

Ben: 🤷

Hook, line, and sinker. 😦

I agree with you about Genesis, and I was simply extrapolating on how the dragon’s lies work out: “You will surely not die!” implies what? That God lied, that is, that God’s truth is not to be taken seriously. This is why we reject Satan at our Baptismal VOWS. WHich is to say, Baptism takes us back to Garden to begin to undo what took place there.

Therefore, as I indicated, the implications of “You will surely not die” is this: Have NO regard for GOd’s truth, nor to do what he said. I believe that is the full implications of what the dragon said.

“You shall be like gods” also implies one’s independence from god. And the dragon implies that the fruit is better than God, which is to say, “Seek your fornication with the creation [the fruit], not your eternal marriage with God!”

So yes, my theory simply extrapolated on what the Dragon said in the beginning.

Hope this helps.
