What if you already beleive Satan's lie?

fwiw again, consider the profound parallel between these two primary lies, which undergird all mortal sin, and the two horns of the false prophet.

The dragon’s lies are really saying this: go ahead and sin mortally, there are no consequences and you will be satisfied.

Mortal sin has two components: total depravity in intellect, and total depravity of will.

that is, first, one has full knowledge or is culpable for full knowledge and disregards what one should know or does know.

the other component is the will: in mortal sin, the will sets itself upon a created good in place of God. That is, choosing the creation over God.

And these two conditions are really the “mockery” of the base sacraments left to heretics, Baptism and Marriage, which really form the summary of the just throughout history.

For in the end, the just have the implicit disposition of Baptism: They seek to know, and understand and live God’s truth and Will.

And, as Marriage is the supreme sacramental sign of creation, the just of all ages receive the creation from God and offer it back to Him in love, seeking their union with God, or MARRIAGE with God, as their ultimate fulfillment.

Hence, the total antithesis of these two great priniciples is really the summary of the dragon’s lies, and what forms the basis of all serious sin:

anti-Baptism: Who cares about God’s truth nor to do His will?

anti-Marriage: rather than living for eternal union, or marriage, with God, live for the creation instead of the creator. “Fornicate” spiritually with the superficial things [take the fruit] of this world, instead of living for the covenant with God that shall never end.

I find it a striking coincidence, then, that in the apocalypse, the Lamb has seven horns, and horns have been considered, on one layer of meaning, to symbolize power. Where is Christ’s Power to redeem us? Is it not the seven sacraments?

And Tertullian taught that the devil PLAGAIRIZES and MOCKS God’s goodness, especially the sacraments.

hence, the two horns of the false prophet could be seen, at least in one layer of meaning, as the “mockery or plagiarization” of the two sacraments left to heretics, Baptism and Marriage, so as to make these two great lies of false prophecy the “ultimate heresy”, the basis of all iniquity.

I just think it is food for thought, personally speaking. :o 🙂

🙂 Hi,Malachi,18 I beleive the lie is false religion, being decived by the devil; to beleive in his ever charming powers. God said he would have all power and authority, that he would rule the world and cause many to go astray. He would perform signs and wonders to fool even the elect (if it were possible)That’s what the lie is. God Bless Nancy

This is why you see satanic masses mocking our own mass.

🙂 Hello, I get that all the time someone fools around and they put stuff in that the other person did not I am not that smart to do that yet as this is my first time since Dec.I was on a computer I realy don’t know how to run one to good if i did Harry wouldn’t be at the bottom.I was trying to change my name to Harry and that’s how it ended up.so i did not put bold in there. and that’s the truth:thumbsup:

Nancy, when Ricko copied and pasted your note into his note in order to ask you the question he bolded the passages he was referring to. You can do that from the tool bar just above this here white space where you type in your replies. The part where it has the B I U (Bold, Italic, and Underline). You highlight the text you want to point out and then click on the letter. Then the trick is to not let yourself be bothered by what it looks like as you are typing, but it will show up how it looks when you click on the Preview button. You can do the same with color by using the little down arrow next to the big A in the middle of the top row.

Hi everybody POPE BENEDICT says LUTHER was RIGHT, http:www.breakingchristiannews.com…f.html?ld=6341 Nancy:)

I absolutely agree with you.Unfortunately, the biggest and most successful lie of Satan was the “Reformation”.How Satan much writhe in pleasure everytime someone calls the Catholic Church the whore of babylon and other such things. How happy is satan when a immature Catholic Christian is convinced to leave the Catholic Church to be “truly saved”.When the divided body of Christ, attacks its separated brethren.

I think that is it and the link works.

Just a note, the Catholic Church has never taught that one is saved by works. When the Church denied that one is saved by “faith alone” it is because the definition of faith according to the Catholic Church is intellectual knowledge. You’ll notice that Benedict goes on to emphasize that faith must include loving one’s neighbor which by Catholic definition is Faith, hope and Charitiy, not faith alone.

James Akin has a good article on it. Let me see if I can find it.

Here it is Justification: By Faith Alone? by James Akin

God Bless,
Maria

P.s. I find the article much like a statement that was made much of by Evangelicals while I was an Evangelical. When JPII said we must be born again.

That has always been the teaching of the Catholic Church but they way the Evangelicals said it back then, it was like the Church was admitting some new doctrine that Catholics had previously denied. There are many misunderstandings about what people think the Church teaches, or doesn’t teach which the Church has in fact, taught all along.

Thanks, but does anyone have a Catholic link that states the pope says Luther was right? A general Christian site doesn’t cut it for me, because I’ve seen certain ones misinterpret the most obvious of things.
