a group of people involved in criminal activity could hear me praying outloud for their souls in my car. I could in return hear them threaten me, berate me, try to tempt me with earthly rewards to stop praying. Suppose I have a family and a wife, and their lives could be improved substantially if I were but to stop praying outloud.

         Am I a masochist because I pray outloud trying to save them not considering the price my family and I pay or am I doing God's will, by witnessing to the faith through what I suffer for love of my neighbor?

Prayer is always the will of God. The devil hates prayer and he will do all means to stop a soul from praying - even trickery, which is what he is doing with you it appears.

Is it really necessary that you pray so loud? God can hear the recesses of your heart. To put your family in jeopardy because of your method of prayer is questionable. To witness your faith should not include an irrational understanding of God’s will. He would not want you to put your family at risk. A silent prayer is in order for this circumstance as I doubt that you will see an immediate conversion from a group of criminals who would want nothing more than to silence your efforts. God wants us to use our common sense that’s why He gave it to us…My :twocents: teachccd
