What is 1 John 4:12 saying?

I stumbled across 1 John 4:12 and it seems to me because the text says “and no one has seen God”, I’m confused. I know Jesus is God but how do we interpret this?
 
Yes, Jesus is God yet we need to remember that Jesus is God in “human form.” Seeing Jesus is not the same as seeing the Beatific Vision.
