I would be more than happy to have a respectful, real discussion with anyone who wants to. I do not think that you want one. You try to bring yourself up by putting others down. Say I am whining, that I am ignorant or dishonest, it does not matter to me. It just says a lot about you. Being rude and insulting does not win you points in a discussion.

None of that is correct, apart from the second sentence, which just expresses your opinion, and the last sentence, which is banal and irrelevant, since I have not been rude and insulting, as I have explained. 🤷

Very clearly there is a problem. The question is: what? And the answer to that question must be decided by looking at the facts and applying sound reasoning to them, not by making irrational insinuations and stating outright falsehoods, as you are doing.

If I claim something is obvious/irrational/dishonest/etc., it is because I think it is. I understand, because of what I’ve been doing ‘professionally’ for the last few years, that my critical thinking skills are much better than the average person’s, and that the average person’s are very poor, even when they’ve taken a course in critical thinking. That said, if you can’t see something that I think is obvious/etc., please tell me: “I don’t think what you said in post #whatever is obvious/etc. - can you explain why you think it is?” As it is, it seems like you’re just whining. (If not, then what are you doing? Where is the substance of your charge?)

Can you really not see what is obviously irrational about committing a non sequitur, falsely claiming you didn’t (which implies either ignorance or dishonesty - do you understand that?), then dismissing the whole issue as if it doesn’t matter? Seriously?? I await your clarification.

I think you enjoy all this and know very well how rude and insulting you are. Sorry, but I am not going to pander to this warped satisfaction you appear to get from getting a rise out of someone. So please use those superior critica thinking skills of yours to have a discussion with yourself. I do not think anyone of us can meet your exacting standards. Enjoy, lol.

Have you made the least effort to understand what my “exacting standards” are? I think not. Is this because you are unable to do so? Again, I think not. I think you choose to respond to my rational remarks angrily and irrationally. You thus fail to meet my “exacting standards,” but I don’t think you are justified in blaming me for that.

Your arguments are not rational Betterave.

For instance you responded to the accusation that you were insulting someone by calling their remark stupid (thus insulting the person you were denying insulting).

That is irrational, or at least as stupid as you were accusing the other poster of being.

A Catholic feminist is nothing more than a woman who sees that God created her female and is worthy of respect.She is as much value as a man. she has dignity and shouldn’t be viewed as a man’s subordinate.

That can happen too. However, I have also seen individual posts partially erased (with a note mentioning the edit) or individual posts totally erased (with no mention.) Pages of comments or even entire threads may vanish when a discussion is deemed completely off the rails.

As for the main topic of this thread, would a Catholic feminist be a particular type of feminist, i.e. someone whose Catholicism flavors their feminism? Is it useful to contrast a Catholic feminist with a feminist Catholic (someone whose feminism flavors their Catholic faith?)

Thanks for the clarification.

I would think a Catholic feminist would be a Catholic who is a feminist and all Catholics should be feminists as before Christ all are equal. I would hope that at least the majority of Catholics are feminists too.
