Now the question is: which moves us closer to socialism, the minimum wage which affects 1 million workers and costs in the neighborhood of maybe $2 billion per year, or defense spending which deprives us of economic freedom on the order of $700 billion per year? It never ceases to amaze me how people will spend all their time complaining about the mosquito and remain silent when the crocodile is eating us alive.Socialism preaches the gospel of envy. One piece of socialist legislation, like the minimum wage, is not going to sink us. What is sinking us is the philosophy that is behind socialist legislation. Congress believes in salvation by law. If only there were a perfect law, there would be a perfect society?
