The scapular is worn as a constant reminder of what we should already be doing, It is not a “Get Into Heaven Free card”, and the Church has never taught that. Sad for those who do not understand their own faith to believe it is.

There are, I believe, 7 different scapulars so best to just do a little research on them.

Every account I have read of our Lady’s promise to St. Simon Stock carried no restrictions, caveats or conditions.

Maybe it was hyperbole, like Jesus command to “take up your own cross”.
