Shape note singing. That would be wonderful ifthey used Gregorian chant!
But what they really use is the FA SOL LA singing of nineteenth century deep South. A whole different ball of wax entirely.

“What Wondrous Love Is This” was first published as a shape note hymn. Here is a haunting rendition of it that reminds me just a little bit of Gregorian chant: www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPV6w17Uz0k.Shape note singing.

I looked them up on Youtube—very good! Thanks. Pentatonix is also good. They have a few lovely Christmas carols on YouTube ( Carol of the Bells and Little Drummer Boy) though mostly they do pop songs which I barely follow these days.I was gone a while wasn’t I?
Once I get in Utube I nearly always look and listen for other music, in this case a capella music.
There is a group there all a capella called Perpetuum Jazzile. You may have heard their version of Africa.
All of their music is breathtakingly beautiful. I can’t recommend them more.![]()
Is that why they have bible study on Wed. night? What is “unbiblical” about Sunday School? They only differences between them and other Baptist is that they believe Sunday School is unbiblical… I was a Baptist for a few years and hung around many Primitive Baptist.
Westboro Baptist is not a primitive Baptist church. Denomination wise. This woman is an example

Primitive Baptist were actually one of the original Baptist denominations. They came from England to America. They were Calvinist influenced why John Smyths (founder of Baptist theology) doctrines. They’re like any other Baptist. They only differences between them and other Baptist is that they believe Sunday School is unbiblical… I was a Baptist for a few years and hung around many Primitive Baptist.
I’ll be interested in the reply as well…but my first thought was that it would simply be because it was not mentioned in the bible. Wouldn’t that be what “un”-biblical means? (as compared to “anti”-biblical.)Is that why they have bible study on Wed. night? What is “unbiblical” about Sunday School?
Sunday School is considered to infringe upon the family, as the basis for instruction in the faith.I’ll be interested in the reply as well…but my first thought was that it would simply be because it was not mentioned in the bible. But then I thought…in the First century, didn’t the faithful gather on the first day (Sunday) for the breaking of the bread and to listen to the Apostles teach (or whoever would be the local leader/bishop)?
Trying to think what the NT DOES say on the matter.
Color me curious…

Stop that reading my mind!!Sunday School is considered to infringe upon the family, as the basis for instruction in the faith.
No, I can’t expound upon that further.

Yes, and the verse in post 14 is probably the earliest example we have of anyone being preached to death. Paul could start anywhere in the Scriptures and preach all night. The faithful did not have a literal, physical “bible” in those days, but it sure seems to qualify as a bible study. But then I thought…in the First century, didn’t the faithful gather on the first day (Sunday) for the breaking of the bread and to listen to the Apostles teach (or whoever would be the local leader/bishop)?

Innate talent.Stop that reading my mind!!
And answering the question I was about to ask!
A PBU quote from Wiki: “It’s hell enough down here.”Primitive Baptists split into two groups. This is the side I like:
