Hi all!

I have seen Muslims here with prayer beads but I don’t know of prayer beads being a Jewish practice.
Yes, Muslims got the practice from us and we got the practice from Jews. 😉
Entirely possible. And it’s also possible that as the use of prayer beads became a more pronounced & recognizable Catholic/Muslim custom, that our Sages banned/put a stop to/ the practice among Jews in order to reinforce our different-ness & separate-ness.

Be well!

The scriptural readings of our Mass take three years to cycle through the entire bible. Still, every Mass includes readings from the Book of Psalms, which should indicate their importance. Recently at a weekday Mass our pastor was recommending we study and meditate them on our own.

Not only that, but during the Liturgy of the Hours, the Psalms play a major part of daily prayer. Liturgy of the Hours is the official prayer of the Church and is said by Priests, nuns, and many of the laity.

Psalms are great stuff!
