I know it’s not a very smart question but someone told me that if you marry someone that is not baptized then the marriage won’t be a Sacrament, what does that mean?
Actually, the priest is there to “stand in for the entire Body of Christ.”The Sacrement of Marriage is unique in that the husband and wife confer the sacrament on each other. The priest or deacon is just a “facilitator” to make sure everything is done properly.
If one of the parties isn’t Catholic, they can’t confer the sacrament on their spouse.
