Hello,
I am a senior in high school and I’m writing my senior thesis about evolution and Catholicism. I’m arguing that a Catholic can indeed believe in the theory of evolution. However, I have one question that I have not been able to answer. How could the entire human race have come from just two people, Adam and Eve? Wouldn’t there have to be incest involved? And if so, isn’t incest morally wrong and doesn’t it cause genetic mutations? If you could give me some information on this topic and how Adam and Eve can fit into the theory of evolution, I would really appreciate it.
