Adoration is the homage that we give to God alone. Since we believe that the Eucharist is truly the body and blood of Jesus Christ, we adore Him in the Eucharist. The Eucharist is kept in a tabernacle in Catholic Churches and the faithful go down on one knee in adorations when they pass if front of it. At certain times the Eucharist it placed in a receptacle, resembling a sunburst, called a monstrance. It is placed on the altar for a period of time so that the faithful can kneel before it in adoration of Jesus.
