What is an appropriate gift to give your parish priest? We have two really good priests at our church. One of them has been very kind to my family through a very difficult time. We would like to express our gratitude and wondered if it was appropriate to do so. What is an appropriate gift for a priest?
 
Talk to the parish staff at the rectory and find out what is customary in your parish. Just keep in mind that the gift shouldn’t be too personal, very expensive, or in contradiction to the priest’s Catholic faith or state in life as a priest. If you’re still stumped, you might plug “appropriate gift for priest” into Google.

As a side note, if a priest belongs to a religious order, you’ll need to ask him about his religious order’s policy on gifts given to members of the order.
