Jeez!

Get me off this Thread!

Jeremiah Wright is a loon, Norman Cone is a loon.

How many more ways to parse the issue?

Liberation theology isn’t theology, but a praxis as Anthony said.

True liberation is found in renouncing one’s self and laying down one’s life for Jesus Christ, True Savior and Redeemer of mankind. Only faith in Jesus unites us.

The Kingdom of Christ is the Pearl of Great Price…and we must begin it again every day of our lives until death…otherwise we become lukewarm or fall away.

In your vocabulary clear thinking apparently equals confusion.

Slapping labels on things and then refusing to think about the labels is not a way to avoid confusion. It’s a way to create confusion.
It is your attempt to re-define the labels after the game has started that has created your confusion.
You refuse to distinguish between different kinds and aspects of liberation theology, even though the Vatican document you cite does so.
If the world was run on pure thought, that might be relevant. But the real world is different. Liberation theology is what it is, not what its apologists say it is.

And by its fruits, we know it.

You refuse to discuss the meaning of the word “political”
I refuse to allow you to change the meaning after the game has started.
In
You refuse to discuss what Jesus meant by saying His kingdom was not of this world
That is a false accusation – I have said over and over that Jesus did not establish a government. That was not His intent.
In
You refuse to discuss what Jesus meant when He said to give Caesar what is Caesar’s and God what is God’s[a/quote]
Quite the contrary – I have used that as an example of the clear, shining line He drew between things sacred and things secular.

You refuse any attempt at distinction or definition, and then you accuse others of being confused?:D:mad::rolleyes:

Edwin
No, I refuse to allow you to change definitions after the game has started. Your arguments have no bearing at all on the subject matter of this thread.

Liberation theology is Marxism with a thin veneer of Christianity. And Black Liberation Theology adds racism to the mix. In the words of the most prominent of the founders of Black Liberation Theology:
“If God is not for us and against white people,” writes Cone, “then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill gods who do not belong to the black community.”
By its fruits, you know it.

People still find reason for all that they do, claiming it bis in the Bible. I think I need more explanation on this topic. Personally

*Vox Nova *a Catholic Blog has a great little discussion going on as regarding Native American LT. They are actually discussing the merits of the quoted material. It’s better than sitting here and arguing forever about what is not arguable. LT is certainly acceptable to read, and not banned. Nothing is ever discussed here, its the usual “the church in my opinion frowns on this, so I don’t recommend you read it. You might be confused.”

I think the site is located at voxnova.com Could be wrong, but I’m sure a google will turn it up. It was one of yesterdays or day before yesterday’s posting.

All I found at that site was advertisements for theater tickets.

I suggest Cone has said it all: “If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill gods who do not belong to the black community.”

Not much to debate after a statement like that from the move’s founder.
