What is Catholic teaching on Evolution?

Can anyone recommend a book to counter the secular views on evolution? I particularly would like the book to explain the various ancient edifices that secularists claim were built 10 thousand or more years ago.

Off hand I can’t recall the names but the History Channel has programs that makes such claims.
