I was reading prayer requests and answers. I took a link to Spiritual 911 by Father Corapi. He listed performing a Chaplet of Divine Mercy. What is this and how do you do that?

Oh, I saw some links when I posted. I have said this in the car when traveling with Catholic Radio. When you are not driving do you use rosary beads to assist with this?

Jesus gave the message of Divine Mercy to St. Faustina, a polish nun in the 1930s. Basically, Jesus told her to tell the world of His Divine Mercy ā and that anyone who prayed the chaplet would receive it, especially those who were the worst sinners. He told her to especially pray it in the presence of the dying, so that they could also receive His mercy.
There is so much information at the website above, I highly recommend you check it out.
The Divine Mercy has been a beautiful blessing in my life, and I hope it will be in yours too.

Yes, you can use Rosary beads. When Iām driving I donāt though: I use a recording of it (it also has the Rosary on it) so that Iām āhands-free.ā

Thank you Belle ā I did a google and read something at EWTN too. Then I got to reading about indulgences ā now I sorta understand that in light of the example of the little boy playing baseball who breaks a window, etc.
Now, Iām a new convert from Protestantland, I have prayed Rosary (Mary interceded for me and I have a wonderful adopted son from 1990 as a result of praying Rosary)ā¦but I digressā¦
I have a concern though EWTN site said you have to be a Catholic in a state of graceā¦I havenāt been to first confession though. I wanted to pray Chaplet of Divine Mercy because of some sins in my past I am concerned aboutā¦what do you think?

The Divine Mercy Chaplet is for everyone even if your āsins are scarletā. The full plenary indulgence comes from Divine Mercy Sunday following Easter. The indulgence requires a state of grace, not the chaplet. Tim

It is the most wonderful of prayers. Singing is one of my favorite hobbies so when I found out you can chant this prayer it made it very easy to start doing. You do not have to chant it though so do not let that intimidate you.

Thank you bell, Tim and WJP984 ā and I do love to sing. I would enjoy singing that very muchā¦or I guess chanting is the what it would be called. After Breakfast Iām going to take a bookshelf in my bedroopm and make an alter, and then pray the Chapletā¦thank you so much. I learn new things on CA everyday! Praise God for CA!

I would also like to suggest you read the Diary of St. Faustina. In it is the progression of a soul to sainthood. St. Faustina didnāt start out at the pinnacle of holiness. She had things to overcome and maturity to achieve. God guided her and she became the first saint of the 21st century. In the Diary you learn that Jesus wants all of us to trust in His Mercy, no matter our sins or our state in life. As we grow in trust of Him and His Mercy, we become merciful to others. Speaking from a few steps along the way of Mercy, our own sins become more obvious but without anxiety we work on correcting them
