What is meant by co-Redemptorist? I thought Jesus was the only one who could redeem us.

If you are speaking of Mary, this means that since she was free of the stain of original sin, was immaculate and holy and found favor with God, and was full of grace and is the perfect example of human obedience to God’s will, she assisted in our redemption by becoming the way for God the Son to enter the world, fully God, fully Man. Without Mary, he would not have been fully Man. While it is the perfect sacrifice of Jesus that is our sole redemption-- that redemption was assisted by Mary’s obedience to God’s will.

Co-Redemptrix - a title associated with Mary for her being an instrument of Redemption by whom the Redeemer, Jesus Christ, came into being. “Co-” in this case comes from the latin word cum meaning “with”.

We are all called to participate in the redemption of mankind with Christ through our love of God and neighbor. Is it necessary? No. It is beneficial? Yes.

A Co-Redemptorist is a person who actively sponsors a young man, through prayer and financial support, in his spiritual journey to becoming a Redemptorist priest or Brother.

The Co-Redemptorist Association has been in existence for almost fifty years. A Catholic layman, Mr. William Davidson of St. Louis, inspired the program as an apostolic activity for friends of the Redemptorists. He determined the portion of the daily educational cost of a seminarian that the Redemptorists could not cover with their own resources $1.42].

The statement co-redempterist,Used as a title or creedo for Mary,is so wrong and against our proffesion of faith is makes me ill and question the state of the Roman Catholic church. Jesus states I amd the way the truth and the light no one may come to salvation save through me . He does not include Mary . the Trnity is Father ,son, and Holy spirit. No mention of Mary. The hail Mary simply states she is the bearer of of God ,not Godherself she may pray for us But cannot absolve or free us from or sins . Only Jesus could do that . If the Roamn Catholic church proceeds with enacting this as Dogma, I will be seriously questioning my further participation in the Roman Catholic faith .

No such dogma has been proclaimed, and it is an old Protestant canard that the Church is contemplating such a proclamation.

You will have to agree though, that without Mary’s cooperation, Christ’s incarnation would not have been possible. In short, no Mary = no Jesus.

In that sense she had a cooperative role to play in our redemption, and without that cooperation our redemption would not have been possible. So while that redemption is 100% through Christ’s suffering on the Cross and His subsequent death and resurrection, it also required Mary’s cooperation to get there.
