What actions are vain? Are removin acnes to improve one’s appearance vain? What about changing hairstyles? Or what if I just want to remove a mole using home remedies? Are these okay as long as you don’t obsess over them?

have you gotten professional help for your anxiety and scrupulosity yet?

As long as you don’t obsess over them, they are not vain.

It could just be a simple case of confusion. Remember you don’t even know this person.
There should be no confusion about clearing up a skin disease, getting a haircut, or having a mole (which can be an indicator of early skin cancer) removed. It’s like asking if brushing your teeth in the morning or taking a shower/bath when you are dirty is vanity. Besides, her other posts seem to indicate an issue with scrupulosity.

Spending three hours in front of the mirror or stopping at every mirror you walk past to check your hair etc.

From my limited understanding of this kind of skin condition, it seems this condition could get much worse if you don’t take care of it.

Just my thought.

Well I haven’t:(. I have been reading scrupulous anonymous and I really want to get my hands on a book dealing with scrupulosity. Recently, my conditions seems to have worsened so I really am thinking of getting a mentor and take the pills that I used to when I was having paranoia. Any advice?

Please read the numerous scrupulous posts by the OP and her references to anxiety and paranoia (for which she has been medicated). She really needs to get some professional help. I am not trying to be unkind. The best thing for her is professional guidance and regular spiritual direction.

This is not a do-it-yourself endeavor. You really do need help of both a mental health professional and a priest. Please contact your mental health provider and also your local priest.
