It is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me.
Galatians 2:20
Faith is a perishing of the mere self and precisely a resurrection of the true self. To believe is to become oneself though liberation from the mere self.
Pope Benedict

Faith is more than just an intellectual assent to Jesus being the Son of God. I think the more I study writings like Pope Benedict’s the more I can understand what faith really means. Thomas merton also talks about shedding the “false self” to become the “true self”. Faith is trusting Jesus to take over as CEO of our lives. Faith is trusting the Catholic Church to lead us to the truth. Faith is trusting the quieter voice in us, the less attention seeking one, which is the path of wisdom.
I don’t have nearly enough faith. I pray for more faith so it will enable me to do good works each day. Good works with joy and gratitude.

Faith is one foot on the ground, one foot in the air, and a queasy feeling in the stomach.

“Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen.” -Hebrews 11:1

Faith is like St Peter stepping out from the safety of the boat, to walk on water towards our Lord.

Faith is confident assurance concerning what we hope for, and conviction of the things we do not see.

No, I don’t have enough.

Read _Lumen _Gentium.__All baptised must confess before men the faith which they have received from God through the Church.
