Excellent question, my friend!

God is: Always being and spreading the means to freely be perfectly patient, kind, and motivated with all the body, spirit, thoughts, and will equally towards others and the self for the unbreakable peace and happiness of every relationship and the self.

God is 3 persons in 1 person, and 1 person in 3 persons.
God is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
God is Jesus Christ.

I look forward to further discussion!

The one who breathed you into existence, and is right now leading you to ask the above question to a group of total strangers on an internet forum, through whom you hope to find the answer to the single most important question in life.

Sounds absurd, doesn’t it? But it’s why all of us come here, no?.

If we were just isolated people all by ourselves, I would give us a pretty low probability in helping you. But if we pray that God works through us, then any and all things become possible. I for one pray this for you.

Hello wanstronian.

Why is it a luaghable implausible concept? Ancient people also thought up mathematics, which is still applicapable to day, and so i don’t think the age of an idea is really relivant to whether or not its plausible or correct.

What is the thing that “breathed us” in to existence?
 
God is not in existence. God is existence itself. In whom we move and live and have our being.

Considering that the vast majority of people throughout all of history has believed in God or (gods) it would seem very unlikely, acording to the “popular culture of today” that they are wrong and you are correct.

A Greatest Conceivable Being.

Alternately, you could say that the word God describes a person possessing the traits of omnipotence, omniscience, moral perfection, metaphysical necessity etc.

Ah, I see someone beat me to the “God is a greatest conceivable being answer.” No, you misinterpret what the idea means.

We mean that God is the greatest being that is metaphysically conceivable. This is different from God being the best being that an individual person can imagine.

First and the last
The Alpha and the Omega

The Creator of all things Good [The Entire Universe and humanity]
The Sustainer of All things

The Redeemer of all humanity
The Savior [conditionally] of humanity

No, you are still confusing the word “conceive” in its philosophical sense with the word “imagine” in its popular sense.

When I say that God is a Greatest Conceivable Being, I do not mean that He is the greatest being that you can imagine (as the link I gave you indicates). I mean that he is the greatest being that is metaphysically conceivable, (which is close to saying “logically possible.”) This does not mean He does not exist, only that given that He exists, this is the sort of being that He is.

Since, I know this sort of talk can be confusing, though, I offered another definition:
Alternately, you could say that the word God describes a person possessing the traits of omnipotence, omniscience, moral perfection, metaphysical necessity, eternity, etc.

Actually, you misunderstand me, and that is not your fault, given the upbringing we commonly and mostly expereince. A word is not it’s referent. And 'conceiving" is a mental activity, no matter how you slice it. You are juxtaposing terms that are both, no matter how different by definition, in the realm of mental imagery. And this is precisely why what I’m saying won’t make any sense to anyone who hasn’t tipped on a partricular fulcrum in the considerations and experience of the nature of awareness and Consciousness.

All that is to say that unless you have found the “off” buitton for your discursive mind and seen beyond it, not much of what I’m saying, or anyone like me, or espcially much more accomplished than me, is going to say. But if you can experientially see yourslef as something beyond your thinking mind, it might be possible for you, or anyone, to start getting past the formulaic and materialistc prescroiptions we have necessarily inherited and start to move on. Jesus spoke rightly. But I promise you that you can see His words in an entirely new and different and real way, in an instant. But you have to work for that instant. It is worth the price to have that pearl, or even to make the effort.
