What a fascinating question.
Home is where I live, of course… that’s about all I can say in reply to the OP’s question. Then again, home to me is where love is… where I can find love and nourishment for my soul. Home is sanctuary.
I am becoming more aware that for many people they don’t have a place that feels like ‘home’. I’m surprised by this and also a bit troubled and saddened by it. It doesn’t seem right. I wonder if this effect is from materialism, or the fact that many mothers work now and so neglect those things that make a home feel like a home. This sort of thinking that a woman needs to work and is worthless unless she does kind of contributes to the lack of caring for those needs of a household. Its disturbing to me as a woman. Making a home I think is a part of my being, yet the world throws this away as unnecessary and even silly.
You can live out of any ol’ cave, but a house is not a home until someone makes it one.
This is what I would have said if you had not already said it!Where the people I love are, that’s home. We’ve moved 12 times in our marriage. Had some great houses but where the family is, that’s home.
