What is humanism

I have read that humanism teaches that natural law should guide man. Or is that nature? We follow natural law but I believe nature is separate from god. That god created and allows things to take there course. But has given certain commandments through his chosen ones. Isn’t nature imperfect? I think it is. Is there humanism and secular humanism?

Well, from my prior knowledge in HS… Humanism is focused on humans. This came out in the Renaissance. It values humans as a general. It is affiliated with human nature. Not nature like a forest but human’s natural law. Nature would be animism which involves natural physical entities, ie - animals, plants, nature. Is there humanism and secular humanism? Yes there is. Secular Humanism is Humanism, with regard in particular to the belief that humanity is capable of morality and self-fulfillment without belief in God.
