What is humility? On one hand, it seems we should accept what we have as more than what we deserve, but can’t this lead to apathy, inaction, and a kind of quietism?
But on the other hand, it seems we should work to correct some of our problems, and that we, in a sense, deserve certain things, but can’t this lead to entitlement, arrogance, and a kind of Pelagianism?
When should we be active or passive, and for what reasons? Should I live like the Psalmist, who says the “there is nothing I shall want,” or should I live like the Beatitude, and hunger and thirst for righteousness?
Christi pax,
Lucretius
