What is it like to have a spiritual director?

I imagine there is a lot of exposure and vulnerability in spiritual direction. I hate being a human often. Spirituality there is never a moment where you are “ok.” Always something to change, fix or pay more attention to. Accepting the Lord’s will in your own life. Many things to ponder.

Yes! Aren’t we called to be saints? There is no moment in where you are “ok”. We are to live trying to be perfect saints. I don’t think that all canonized saints thought they were ok. I believe they faught daily on overcoming spiritual and physical battles, had many changes and multiple conversions during their life. It won’t be enough until the day you die. I believe it was St. Augustin that said something like “the heart of man never rests until it rests in God.”.
