I’ve got a feeling that the answer to the question I put in the title of this thread has something to do with love.Anyways I know that God is the only one who is omnipotent. There have been times when I’ve seen in some kinds of fiction like in comic books and probably in the science fiction genre that there are beings with purported “nigh omnipotenence”.This alleged near omnipotence is not real because the charachters are not real, they rarely if at all consider the moral/philosophical implications of such power and even when they do have a lot of power something like a personal flaw makes them lose control of it (maybe due to intervention by another charachter) or something to that effect. This is clearly different from the omnipotenence that God has because (God being love) never misuses his power and does everything for a reason. However if someone were to ask me what distinguishes the omnipotence of the true God from some like charachter from work of fiction(an example that might be fimilar to those who know about the X-men:franchise:the Phoenix force) what would I say?.Thank you very much so for your time and God bless.

You are quite correct: it has everything to do with love. When we think of absolute power and absolute love, we have always tended to think of them as two separate things. But, placing them side-by-side to intermingle (involve) their meanings is quite another thing. Absolute power without absolute love would be intolerable and unbearable.

God bless,

The omni of God and the omni of fiction is a really interesting comparative.

To me, the omni of God is inexpressably mysterious, while the omni of fiction isn’t.
