Its my third favourite… but don’t tell my Polish wife that.

If you can’t make it to Poland, then visit American Czestochowa. It is a very spiritual and uplifting place. And yes, Poland does not allow abortions, but I believe Ireland doesn’t either.

At one point in Poland’s history, they ceased to exist. They were carved up among three countries. However, they always prayer to Our Lady, and she never failed them.

I am proud to be Polish and especially proud that my son is discerning priesthood in a Polish order.

My Texas girlfriends from college always told me that Texans thought the were the center of the Universe. Funny, she now lives not far from me on the East coast and the other lives in Wisconsin.

Not to bud in but this sounds like you have two girlfriends…
The wisdom on the cowboy tombstone:

What you need to be happy is:
–a woman who understands you and can talk about anything with you
–a woman who can cook well and keep a home
–a woman who can keep you awake all night in bed
–and, most important: they must never meet one another, or you will end up like me!

🤣

If you ever plan to go to Poland, and I think you should, my parents in law live just outside of Warsaw and will welcome you. And they are very Catholic so if you tell them your story they will be even more nice! Great people those Polish!

Actually, Poles have had a pretty peaceful coexistence with Jews compared to other European nations.

Part of the reason why Poles are thought of as xenophobic is probably because they won’t allow the same mass influx of migrants that Western European countries have. But, considering the problems the West has had with it, who could blame them?

I highly recommend Krakow. Stunning city with a really rich culture.

I’m not sure what standard you’re using to judge “peaceful coexistence with Jews,” and I should note that my relationship with this topic is scholarship in antisemitism. So perhaps we should simply leave it there and agree to disagree.

I come from a Polish immigrant family and live in a heavily Polish area. I’ve always found the idea that Poles are xenophobic laughable.

EDIT: Also, John Paul’s II has noted, I believe in Gift and Mystery that the Polish Jews he grew up with were remarkably patriotic towards Poland.

Hey I asked how it sounded.

So am I correct that this was in the past? It was just a question how you phrased it?

It was pretty funny by the way…

My son’s World History class taught how Western European countries expelled Jews and countries like Poland learned a lot from them.

Oh yeah, I was thinking of the one and the other was an afterthought. It did read goofy 🙃

Trades that the native Poles did not have. Also, advanced education.

That’s fine. I just wanted to know what you were referring to because that’s the first I’ve heard of it.

And, unfortunately, Jews are fleeing Western Europe again.

Poland has suffered Hitler’s National Socialism and Russia’s Soviet Socialism.

Perhaps they are less likely to be propagandised out of the church by education and media who are still in awe of such evil.
