What is known of author Randy Engel?

She wrote books such as Sex Education: The Final Plague and The Rite of Sodomy: Homosexuality and the Roman Catholic Church.
Apparently she has made some pretty serious accusations about a well-liked priest in my diocese and I’m not sure if she is just some conspiracy theory nut or if she should be taken seriously.

I’ve heard the Final Plague book was a good read and used to debate sex ed. in CCd programs. I’ve read exerpts from the rite of sodomy book but haven’t seen the book itself. it’s long…1200+ pages and I doubt I’d actually read something that intense. And although i’d like ot know which priests have done what so I know who to stay away from, I don’t know that reading the book would help my faith. Teachers abuse students, priests abuse children, step-parents abuse stepchildren. It’s nothing new to learn we live in a sexually twisted society. Prudence and vigilance across the board is probably the best way to keep our kids safe…and alerting the authorities to anyone who dare hurt our children. silence cannot be tolerated…IMO

It appears he has a new book. Before I would take him seriously, I would check to see if most of those he named were covicted in a court of law. Looking at the description of his new book, he presents “evidence” that can not be verified, nor proven false. Basically, it sounds like his book is based on hearsay evidence which would not stand up in court.

Basically, with any priest, teacher or whatever, play it safe and meet with them as a family. Teach your children to speak up, if someone touches them in an private area.
 
While reading about Planned Parenthood and the abuses of Sex Ed in the schools, I stumbled upon the name of Randy Engel so did a search here. I realize this thread is old but there weren’t any others that may answer my question about her imputation of inappropriate Sex Ed in Catholic Schools. Although I haven’t been in one for the past 40 years or so, this allegation seems really wild. These would be about the last places I would expect to see it knowing the protective, conservative views I was exposed to and more than that, from other Catholic sites and forums.
I don’t really want to talk about her but lapsed Catholics and priests have some wild stories that make mainstream media. Someone sent me a link recently by a renegade priest who dug up just about everything negative about the Church and more, making a film about it starting from Constantine. Oh well, I didn’t want to talk about him either.
The point is has anyone experienced these questionable courses in Catholic schools or their children?
