I am not sure if this is the proper forum. I read where the Pope has called for a change in the way remarried people are addressed with in the Church. This is the situation. Can you clarify for me or point me in the proper direction?
My wife was raised as Catholic. She was married at 18 and divorced at 19. We married approximately 4 yrs later. We been married for 31 yrs. I am not Catholic. We were members of the Presbyterian church for many years, but wife has always felt pull back to the Catholic church. Her former husbands family are all deceased now. He is firmly against an annulment.
As such, while she wants to return to the Church, she feels she cannot without the annulment. I was curious as to whether or not the restrictions have eased due to the Pope’s call. What would be the current proper procedure for us to come back to the Church?
Thank you.
