The “Resurrection cross” or “Triumphal cross” (Crux longa in Latin) is a simple, somewhat long, shaft crossed at the top from which a banner may float. Christ bears this in his hand in many depictions, as his standard of power, and the conqueror over death and Hell…The banner on the Triumphal cross is usually white and has a red cross, symbolizing the victory of the resurrected Christ over death. The symbol derived from the 4th century vision of the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great and his use of a cross on the Roman Standard.

It appears to be a Byzantine cross: aquinasandmore.com/catholic-articles/byzantine-crosses/article/147. But I can’t be certain. Such a cross is not usually used in Roman rite Catholic art. Although, the seminary chapel of St. Mary on the campus of St. Thomas University here in MN. has one on the top of the chapel building.

It’s not Byzantine. The purpose of the second bar is only to hold the banner. Some representations of this cross have the banner just hanging on the cross by a rope somehow and some have a bar to hold the banner. You see this cross very frequently in Italian Catholic art of the Risen Christ (“Cristo Risorto”).It appears to be a Byzantine cross: aquinasandmore.com/catholic-articles/byzantine-crosses/article/147.
