Philosophy is considered to be the study or rather the contemplation of the higher ideals such as our existence, knowledge, reason and morals in in general.
What about the philosophers who lived before Christ, such as Plato?Philosophy is the search for truth. However, if you don’t have a Christ centered philosophy then you are searching out lies.
Is Plato the way the Truth and the life? I’m not saying that a man’s opinion can’t convey meaning but if that opinion doesn’t confess the Spirit of Truth (The Holy Spirit) as presented by Father and Son then it (the man’s opinion) is irrelevant to actual Truth. A Christ centered philosophy admits the Spirit of Truth whereas Plato just guesses and assumes what the Truth to be. The Word of God should be the basis and foundation of all Truth. Plato doesn’t have the Word of God, his foundation is other men, not the God of Truth. Men are blind by themselves, they cannot know what Truth is unless God reveals it to them. The Truth was not revealed to Plato because no where in his works does he confess the God of Truth, Jesus Christ. What about the philosophers who lived before Christ, such as Plato?
I think you’re underestimating the importance of Plato to Western philosophy but I’ll leave it at that.Is Plato the way the Truth and the life?
