What is required for an examination of conscience before confession?

There is an examination of conscience written by Father Trigilio at ewtn.com. Does just using that meet the requirements of how I should examine my conscience before confession, or must I read throught the beatitudes? Thanks.
 
My priest told me to go through the 10 Commandments one by one. I have several little booklets on how to perform an examination of conscience, they’re extremely helpful. You can find one in a Catholic bookstore.
 
I don’t know if I made myself clear enough. Is that all that is required for a good examination of conscience, going through the ten commandments one by one? Or do we have to do more? Thanks for helping me out.
 
Well, I always pray that the Lord will help me be honest with myself as I do an examination of conscience. I can’t say that anything else is “required,” other than a contrite heart and honesty with yourself, God, and the priest.

Also, the 7 capital sins should be considered:

Pride
Greed
Lust
Anger
Gluttony
Envy
Sloth

Honestly, if you pick up a booklet on how to make a good confession, I promise you’ll find it helpful and enlightening!
