-Movie Spoiler-

So, I just got done watching the movie “The Vatican Tapes” which a woman gets possessed and in turn a cardinal along with a priest try to preform an exorcism only to no prevail. And at the end it shows her with holes in her hand, healing people like Christ, and was being worshiped like Christ. In this movie she is known as the Anti-Christ.

Now I thought this was more fiction than real until it revealed an actual Bible verse (Revelation 19:20, the verse will be at the bottom of this section) at the end. And it does seem to explain an Anti-Christ who is worshiped at one point. My question is, what is this and what it means? Will there be an Anti-Christ?

“The beast was caught and with it the false prophet who had performed in its sight the signs by which he led astray those who had accepted the mark of the beast and those who had worshiped its image. The two were thrown alive into the fiery pool burning with sulfur.”

Revelation 19:20

Bad movie.

In context of movie, which I never watched, you answered your own question of What is Revelation 19:20! by this paragraph describing:
And at the end it shows her with holes in her hand, healing people like Christ, and was being worshiped like Christ. In this movie she is known as the Anti-Christ.

I mean a bad movie. Something that you shouldn’t be that much upset about.
Some things from that movie exist in real life, like
exorcisms, possessions, but general that movie is bad fiction.
Fiction made by Hollywood imagination, in easiest words.

Yeah, I just asked my mom about it. She said to take the book of revelation with a grain of salt. Haha, will definitely keep that in mind next time

yeah, as I said in a different reply, my mom told me that I should take the book of revelation with a grain if salt. Will definitely keep that in mind

well specifically the book of revelation. I actually read a summary in a Bible in our roman catholic church about the revelations and it said nit to take the book of revelations literally. I don’t know, but yes take movies with a grain if salt but I feel like revelations as well

Usually, the phrase “with a grain of salt” means “this is likely false”. Non of Scripture is false, however, it is not all literal. Something can be real and right and not be literal.

yes, definitely. I feel like revelation may contain more symbolic rather than realistic events. But yeah, that’s right

I saw it in movie theatres. Which in retrospect probably was not a good idea for an 11 year old to do. I appreciate your sense of humour on this.

Now I thought this was more fiction than real
You were correct in your original assessment.

The fact that it cherry-picked a Bible verse out of context doesn’t suddenly make it real.

I would advise you to be more judicious in your choice of movies, especially if you’re going to actually take lousy movies like this seriously.

Definitely, I’ll keep that lesson in mind next time I choose a movie. And sorry for the misunderstanding, my moms first language isn’t English so please excuse the misused phrase. God bless

My question is, what is this and what it means? Will there be an Anti-Christ?
Yes… His ‘spirit’ is felt more and more every day…

More important… Jesus is Returning!

I. HE WILL COME AGAIN IN GLORY

Christ already reigns through the Church. . .
ABRIDGED

The Church’s ultimate trial

**[675] Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers.574 The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth575 will unveil the “mystery of iniquity” in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh.576

**[676] The Antichrist’s deception already begins to take shape in the world every time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatological judgment. The Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism,577 especially the “intrinsically perverse” political form of a secular messianism.578

**[677] The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through this final Passover, when she will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection.579 The kingdom will be fulfilled, then, not by a historic triumph of the Church through a progressive ascendancy, but only by God’s victory over the final unleashing of evil, which will cause his Bride to come down from heaven.580 God’s triumph over the revolt of evil will take the form of the Last Judgment after the final cosmic upheaval of this passing world.581

II. TO JUDGE THE LIVING AND THE DEAD

** Following in the steps of the prophets and John the Baptist, Jesus announced the judgment of the Last Day in his preaching.582 Then will the conduct of each one and the secrets of hearts be brought to light.583 Then will the culpable unbelief that counted the offer of God’s grace as nothing be condemned.584 Our attitude to our neighbor will disclose acceptance or refusal of grace and divine love.585 On the Last Day Jesus will say: "Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me."586

**[ Christ is Lord of eternal life. Full right to pass definitive judgment on the works and hearts of men belongs to him as redeemer of the world. He “acquired” this right by his cross. The Father has given “all judgment to the Son”.587 Yet the Son did not come to judge, but to save and to give the life he has in himself.588 By rejecting grace in this life, one already judges oneself, receives according to one’s works, and can even condemn oneself for all eternity by rejecting the Spirit of love.589
