The Prophets and Apostles point to the end of this world by fire. This world and everything in it is destined to be destroyed by “fervent heat”. Hence, the term temporal order for the universe and all physical order.
Therefore, your question sounds impatient within the context of Salvation history.

The Apostles said 2000 years ago that “we are in the last days”. Either they were completely wrong…or…they had a different view of time–they meant a final “era”.
I, for one, don’t think God will spend eternity regretting the fact that He could have waited a bit longer to save just one more eternal child from destruction. Therefore, “the last days” refers to an era that could well extend another million years.
I really love the movie “The Book of Eli”…because it gives you this same idea of how God can rebuild and save eternal souls…even when everything appears lost and over. Therefore, “temporary” to God could mean billions of years…and to the Apostles could mean a final era stretching out thousands of years.

Untrue. That which can survive the Fire, will. That which cannot, will be burned up. This applies both to works and to beings who have worked.
The Apostle encourages us to build with precious metals and stones, rather than hay and stubble. All our work shall be tested in Fire.
