What is the Best Book(s) to Give a Person to Convince Them that Christianity is True AND The One to Choose Over All Other World Religions?

That pretty much sums it up.

(I’m sure the answer also depends on the sort of person that would be reading the book. For example, some people are fairly rigorous intellectually and scientific minded, while others persons may be more convinced by another sort of presentation.)

I guess the New Advent Catholic Encyclopedia?

There’s just soooo much information to cover for different topics for each person, it would be difficult.
 
St Edith Stein was brought up as jew but later she stopped practicing as she was scientific minded etc… from what I remember she read the book ‘The Interior Castle’ by St Theresa of Avila and that started the change in her life and eventually was baptized.

Well it also depends on how the person is… St Ignatius of Loyola changed after reading the Lives of Saints and the Gospels.

I’m thinking of something more along the lines of books like Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. But I’m open to somewhat different approaches as that.

Yes, this is a good angle at times. It was actually Teresa’s autobiography that Edith read in one night and became convinced or at least deeply impressed by it.
 
If I’m understanding correctly, the person isn’t convinced that Buddhism isn’t as good as Christianity and seems not to believe in God? Anyway . . . .

Lots of good suggestions here.

Of course, if there were that perfect, one size fits all, totally convincing book or slogan or bumper sticker, don’t you think the Church would have found it in the last 2000 years?

You already know this, but life is messy and people are irrational, and we even do the wrong thing when we absolutely know better.

But your life and example and relationship with the person will be more of a convincer than any book.
Although there are some wonderful books out there…
 
The Radio Replies series. Written in the '40’s so you know it’s trustworthy…
 
I am mainly asking for a friend, so don’t know the person specifically.

Her son is an electrical engineer so probably fairly brainy, linear analytical. I like how concise and reasonable Mere Christianity is.

Never read the everlasting man. Seems like Chesterton is a bit long winded and at times, circuitous, but that’s just my impression. 🙂

Hm? I find him witty and reading him made me realize my thought processes were all backwards. He makes good and solid points in an entertaining fashion imo.
 
Trent Horn just came out with a book called The Case for Catholicism. Try that.
 
Yes, you’re right. He’s much loved and considered one of the great catholic writers of the 20th century. I might give him a try again.

Some things are just a matter of taste. He does indeed have a distinct writing style.
 
At one time in my life I found Chesterton’s Orthodoxy quite powerful.
